This document represents expert opinion on administrative, technical and clinical essentials in providing an interactive
videoconferencing patient encounter. The evolving role of telepresenter is key to a successful encounter.
This individual is at the patient remote site, and provides support to the patient and telemedicine provider
in completing the physical examination and/or telemedicine activity. The telepresenter may be a community
health worker, allied health professional, licensed professional or lay person depending on the
expertise required to complete the exam/patient encounter.
